Bruchids (Callosobruchus chinenensis, C. maculates) are the major insect pest for stored pulses. Some control measures can be taken to reduce loss and maintain seed quality is given below:

5. Before preservation seeds should be well dried (moisture level 8-9%). Preservation should be done in an air tight container like gunny-bag with poly-bag, plastic or metallic drum.
5. For storing a small quantity of seed neem oil can be mixed @ 5 ml/kg seed.
5. Using phostoxin tablet only one for every 100 kg seeds in an airtight container can keep the stored seed for about one year without infestation.
