Most of the pulse crops can not tolerate salinity and still there has no saline tolerant varieties of pulses except cowpea. Hence, for saline or coastal areas, cowpea can be selected to grow. BARIFelon-1 is a promising variety having wide adaptability and can be grown in saline prone areas.
